My wife needed a very warm jacket for Chicago winters. She does not like puffy down jackets, or longer coats. This jacket is extremely thin. Initially, I thought it was too thin, but the high-tech heat regenerating "high-tech" composition retains and augments body heat. She was happily surprised that such a sleek, light-weight, non-puffy jacket could be so warm and wind/precipitation resistant. The "red element" color is a rich garnet hue...not as bright as true red; not as dark as crimson: it's a very rich, appealing color. This is a great jacket.

Nice looking jacket without the added puffy factor, and appreciate the down-feather alternative.Great looking, warm enough for WI winters, but subtracted a star for the chest being tight, so I went up a size...and wished the bottom had a draw string to keep the chill from riding up. Overall, am pleased. Washes very well, and like that the collar folds completely down. The sleeves are longer, and the built-in hand cuffs are a bonus, as the pockets are not warm. Two pockets inside the jacket (one with zipper).

This jacket is beautiful in Red Element and pretty sexy on! It's true that it's very light and comfortable, and the Omni-heat thermal and reflective insulation inside makes it look pretty "high-tech" because it's silver - you may get lots of questions about that! You may need a wool sweater or more layers underneath if you are going to be in cold conditions for a long amount of time, but for being in and out in snow and cold temps, the jacket is perfect - and you look great in it! It's shaped to fit as well, which I love. I have another jacket that goes straight down from underarms to waist and isn't flattering, but this jacket is. It zips all the way under your chin and keeps your neck warm, and it has neoprene-type fabric at the wrists to keep the heat in, which is nice. Although I sometimes roll these up, especially if I am washing my hands with the jacket on, because they get in the way. And if you have gloves on, you can pull the fabric over the gloves to keep the heat on...Read more
